The Prevention Concordat for Better Mental Health consensus statement and suite of 10 supporting resources capture a new shared agreement to support local and national action to prevent mental health problems, promote good mental health and reduce inequalities. Drawing on recommendation two of the Five Year Forward View for Mental Health, the aim is to galvanise cross-sector action to increase the adoption of effective prevention planning arrangements in all areas of England.
The ethos and actions promoted through the Prevention Concordat are underpinned by an evidence base which demonstrates that adopting prevention focused approaches makes a valuable contribution to achieving a fairer and more equitable society. To facilitate the spread of effective practice and dissemination of learning, Public Health England are running these series of learning events between January and March 2018. About the events: The regional events will provide a good opportunity to maximise peer-to-peer learning and provide opportunities to explore the set of resources brought together by the Prevention Concordat for Better Mental Health. You can choose the event that is most convenient for you to attend. The Twitter hashtag for this meeting is #preventionconcordat Who should attend: The learning events are designed for cross sector participation. The focus is on organisations seeking to contribute to local action to prevent mental health problems and promote good mental health. This includes, but is not limited to, local authorities, NHS commissioners, voluntary and community sector organisations, emergency services and more. Public Health England are delivering these learning events with support from King’s Fund and Centre for Mental Health. Programme |
