Livewell Southwest today announced the appointment of a new Chief Executive to succeed Professor Steve Waite on his retirement in February 2018. Livewell Southwest Chairman, Duncan Currall, said:
“Following an extensive and intensive recruitment and selection process that has involved colleagues from within Livewell Southwest and from partner organisations, I am very pleased to be able to announce that we have been successful in appointing a successor to Steve Waite.
I am delighted to say that Dr Adam Morris has been appointed to the role of Chief Executive for Livewell Southwest and will lead the organisation through the next phases of its journey in providing health and social care for the city of Plymouth and healthcare for the South Hams and West Devon areas.
Adam is currently Medical Director for Livewell Southwest. Prior to this he has had extensive experience in Board level roles in the Torbay area and is a General Practitioner, working in Dartmouth.
There will be a handover period between Steve and Adam in the coming weeks so that continuity of leadership will be maintained. I know that Adam is very keen to meet with partners and colleagues over the coming weeks and months in his new role and we are proud to welcome him in his new role.
I very much look forward to working with Adam in his new role and in developing our services to support the communities in which we work.”
Dr Adam Morris said:
“I am delighted and humbled at been chosen to lead 3000 fantastic staff and over 70 services as the CEO of Livewell Southwest.
